Lets start with the objective:
1. Have a way to log vibration of each motor at the strut
2. software that analyses the data
3 Trend data for diagnosis of issues developing over time
The current options are pretty good, from do it yourself builds to complete systems costing thousands. And of course the good old strap your iphone to the drone and use an app
Our first attempt will be to identify a sensor that can either log the data or transmit it in real time.
Lets define some components and specifications:
Datalogger:
A data logger is an electronic device that records data over time via internal sensors, external sensors, and probes. The small, battery-powered devices can measure a multitude of physical parameters to provide an environmental profile in which the data logger is placed.
Sample Rate:
Here is a great blog that explains some valuable points https://blog.endaq.com/top-vibration-metrics-to-monitor-how-to-calculate-them
This is a great project for vib and it includes a pickup for vib location. will consider this but it requires a breakout box that is 180 bucks

Motor Vibration we went with The TYTO 1580 test stand. We also have the 1520 we use for other testing but the 1580 allows expanded testing
Establishing a process and identified steps are in progress
